How To Find Out If You Have Past Life Heartbreak

September 8, 2026 · 9 min read

This is for those of you who suspect there is an overarching feeling of heart break in your life. You seem to find this theme replayed in everything you do. Yet, you can’t find a good reason why you feel this way. You haven’t been in a relationship yet or went into one (or a few) feeling broken already. Perhaps there is always a special someone in the back of your mind in everything you do. Maybe there is always a longing for someone you have never met. Someone you feel exists but you can’t find anywhere you seem to look.

There are many ways a heartbreak can be framed, from your perspective, to the other person’s or even from an outsider’s. This doesn’t even have to be necessarily a lover but even a parent, child, or friend relationship. Only internally do you know how it feels like to be in your position at any given time. You can think you have walked in someone else’s shoes but all it does is just reflect back your own journey. Two equally similar situations do not always lead to the same exact outcome.

You can be heartbroken and know it was caused by the other, but in the end you are framed as the villain of the situation. You can strive for justice but others will think you only want revenge. A disconnect in society that is often perpetuated by systemic groupthink.

You can even be wrong in how you phrase the situation, yet still be striving for a love that isn’t there. The alignment of love is often a matter of perfect timing, not whether you are ready or not. Heartbreak is quite the same.

This is not about pinpointing blame onto one or another. Its about clearing away the unauthentic self so that love can flourish. If you wish to find your past life lover, its most likely you will meet unexpectedly. If you don’t, you will probably still have to deal with aspects of the heartbreak in different areas of life. There is no escape from a system of inputs and outputs or as popularized, karma. At its highest, love is like a fairy tale. At it’s lowest, a common shared bond of hatred and feedback loops of shared pain.

Some Prerequisites

First, you have to look at any current relationships in your life, from family to friends to lovers. Look to see who is the most important in all of these. Who you care less about and who you care more for. Love often wanes and waxes, a normal person does not have the capacity to love everyone in an equal measure emotionally, physically or spiritually.

Second, you must know yourself. Who are you truly when no one is looking, that character is the most important one in the world. Not when you are faking your smile in a crowd or angry about some miniscule issue. The more you are capable of aligning your real-self to the public persona the easier it will be to realize who you actually are. The notion of the self goes so deep in to metaphysics, biology, and philosophy that it creates a love story in it of itself, sometimes that it takes lifetimes to understand.

Thirdly, you may have already gone through it or may have encountered situations out of your control that traumatizes you or impacts you enough to change your life course. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Truly, it is these moments that shape the real ‘you’ inside and tests the question, who are you really?

Heartbreak can be found in all of these steps. You may look at your close non-romantic relationships and be able to find flaws that led or will lead to heartbreak within them. You can analyze yourself and realize you broke your own heart by not following your dreams. You can block certain situations from your memory and feel that it was too hard for you to handle and fully remember.

These steps are enough for you to hopefully attempt to find healing in this life for whatever situations you have gone through. Whether you want healing or not, it is a natural occurrence in the cycle of pain and often people just leave the gapping love scar open for the rest of their lives. Injuring those they come into contact with later on, spreading like wildfire.

Through the dredging up of unresolved emotions and karma from past lives, they will eventually spill into this one through the retroactive nature of our universe. I will give a warning that not all isolated situations relate to particular past life matters but the overall theme is present if you connect the dots in retrospect. If you look at the state of the world right now, its eerily familiar to times of collective abundance before a great disaster follows. History often repeats and rhymes in amusing ways.

(I know how bad the economy is for most people but still it is a time of abundance, relative to the past half-century)

Past Lives and Love

In terms of past lives, you will notice similar situations or fears in this life surrounding the way your heartbreaking situation unfolded for you. Whether you are told by a psychic, astrologer, shaman, etc. in this life or you can see or feel it for yourself with your intuition.

I see that the most common experience is a traumatic event that (whether through the fault of others or your own) causes the memories to flow in. (Note: It’s most times not like a movie where you are hit with an instant replay and can see everything that happened. You may have to go through piecing it together in retrospect).

Some gifted individuals may be able to recall memories through a meditative state and avoid the need for a traumatic experience in order to remember altogether. It’s different for everyone and most times you have to pay attention to the subtle clues that are given before it can be seen clearly. Like putting back together a broken puzzle.

Love is fleeting unless held onto and cultivated. It is not a one stop shop that can passively run forever. This is the ideology of the time period we live in and effects of the constant consumerism slop we are fed.

Love at its purest state is the ability to sacrifice or compromise for the one you love.

(And by sacrifice, I don’t mean busting 12 hour days and 70 hour weeks so you and your lover can go to Greece for a month or a buy new car. People have tied sacrifice to money rather than to commitment and virtues, which as you see is extremely lacking in today’s world.)

I mean in the sense that you are there for them in their darkest moments and can pull them out of their funk or vice versa. Society has really twisted minds through education and media as we now deal with the coming catastrophes of our collective actions.

If you and your lover are unafraid to follow each other no matter the destination and act as though you are one. This is the true state of love at its purest, at least from my past-life memories. You may think it is a toxic or unhealthy mindset, but I would contest that with the fact that the very state of our systems rely on extremely toxic protocols to maintain the current physical and spiritual detriment in the forms of infertility, obesity and depravity. (refer back to my article 7 Hidden Ways Society Kills Love…).

It is of my belief that the majority of humans in this time period have been conned into believing in true “love” as a detriment to their evolution, hence the trends of the time.

The more you follow the crowd the less you will know about yourself. But since you are reading this article, it probably means you don’t like following the crowd either right?

The truth is that we live in a society that promotes a collective superficiality, not saying its a good or bad thing but the way our modern life operates. Depending on the time period you incarnate back into, you will be faced with relevant experiences that forces you to change depending on your soul’s journey. Whether you gravitate towards a more religious ideology or a more spiritual path is up to your will and tendencies. All of these ideologies in the world are simply different means to go towards the same outcome of guidance through higher forces.

Past life experiences and recalling details are catered to the specific person. If you’d like more information on such work, then I’d suggest Dr. Ian Stevenson. He has great books on the subject and decades of research around the world documenting people that can remember pinpoint details from past lives. Kids are much more prone than adults to remember but it doesn’t mean an adult won’t remember at some point in their life either!

In conclusion, you will see the reflection of your problems in everyday situations and navigating to close that gap will only lead to a more truthful you. Who wouldn’t want to be able to be their real selves with their lover. If relationships aren’t based on authenticity then what would the difference be between having lots of lovers or none at all? Just something to ponder but its sort of like what we see now…

My Resolution

Everyone has their own way of uncovering their truth. Connecting the man-made financial schemes and environmental disaster dots sort of go over peoples heads when it comes to matters of love. Though to me its clear as day that we are manipulated into thinking and believing as though these things are normal when in essence its extremely abnormal.

Past lives and other time periods are no exception. If you choose to find your way back and correct imbalances than I suggest finding a master to rely on. Otherwise you have a path set out before you to find those answers yourself.

Finding out may be the easy part but admitting to it will be harder. Love is something money won’t buy no matter how much it is, it is innately free but certainly money can uphold and nourish it. The trick is just not basing the entirety of love behind it. Otherwise you get a world as you see today.
