Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Adore Anguish (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit adoreanguish.com (the “Site”), buy something from our shop, contact us, or interact with content we publish on third-party platforms such as Pinterest.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.
Who we are
Adore Anguish is an independently operated blog and online shop publishing writing in the love, relationships, and personal-growth space. The Site is hosted on WordPress.
For any privacy question, contact us at adore3anguish@gmail.com or through our contact page.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form submissions. Your name (optional), email address, and the message or story you choose to send.
- Comments. If commenting is enabled, the name, email address, and comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent (WordPress collects these to help with spam detection).
- Shop orders. If you buy something, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number if provided, and details of what you ordered.
- Account details. If you create an account, your username, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and any details you add to your profile.
- Email sign-ups. Your email address, if you subscribe to updates.
We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are handled directly by our payment processor, which receives your card information and processes the charge under its own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation and limited details such as the last four digits of the card and the transaction status.
Information collected automatically
- Log data. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps — collected by our host as part of normal server operation.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the cookies section below.
- Analytics. Aggregate information about how visitors find and use the Site.
Media
If you upload images to the Site, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as other visitors can download and extract that data.
How we use your information
- To publish and operate the Site and keep it secure.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To process, fulfil, and support orders, including refunds and customer service.
- To send newsletters or updates you asked to receive (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand, in aggregate, which content and products people find useful, and to plan what we publish next.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting record-keeping.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.
Legal bases for processing (EU/UK visitors)
- Contract. Processing orders, accounts, and customer support.
- Consent. Marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests. Site security, fraud prevention, and understanding aggregate usage of the Site.
- Legal obligation. Retaining financial and transaction records.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, keep shopping-cart and login sessions active, and measure aggregate traffic.
- Essential cookies are required for the Site to function — sessions, cart contents, and security. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site.
- Third-party cookies may be set by embedded content. Embedded content from other websites (video, images, social posts, Pinterest “Save” buttons and widgets) behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, and those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with that embedded content.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Site.
Pinterest and other third-party platforms
We maintain a presence on Pinterest and other social platforms and use their official APIs to publish and manage our own content.
Specifically, our connection to the Pinterest API is used only to:
- create and schedule Pins that link to our own articles and products;
- read and organize our own boards and Pins;
- retrieve analytics about our own Pinterest account, such as impressions, saves, and outbound clicks;
- review and manage our own Pinterest advertising campaigns.
This access is authorized by us, the account owner, and is limited to our own account. We do not request access to, collect, store, or share other Pinterest users’ Pins, boards, profiles, or personal data. We do not ask visitors of this Site to authorize any Pinterest application. Access tokens are stored securely and are revocable by us at any time through Pinterest account settings.
Anything you do on Pinterest itself is governed by Pinterest’s own privacy policy, not this one.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate the Site, and only to the extent they need it:
- our web host and content delivery provider;
- our payment processor, for completing purchases;
- our email delivery or newsletter provider, if you subscribe;
- analytics and anti-spam providers;
- shipping or fulfilment providers, where an order requires delivery.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: kept for as long as needed to handle the conversation and a reasonable period afterwards.
- Comments: retained indefinitely so follow-up replies can be recognized, unless you ask us to remove them.
- Orders and transaction records: kept as long as required by tax and accounting law.
- Accounts: kept until you ask us to delete the account.
- Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete your personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent for marketing at any time;
- ask that we not sell or share your personal information — note that we do not sell personal information;
- be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these, email adore3anguish@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on administrative accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
